As I’m currently working my way through Tilly Walnes’s book Love at First Stitch, for my latest project I made the Clemence skirt, a basic dirndl style that’s super easy to make. In the book, Tilly includes instruction on how to make your own pattern for it (this isn’t as hard as it sounds as it’s basically formed of several rectangles!). It took barely any time to make, and now that I have the pattern made I’m planning on adding a couple more to my wardrobe in the future…

For my skirt I chose this floaty cotton lawn from Fabric Godmother– Because the pattern has very few seams, it showcases the unusual print really nicely. Cotton lawn is my favourite fabric to work with at the moment, although unfortunately it’s not really the season for it… Anyway, I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of the skirt in the summer!
